We are delighted to invite applications for the role of Curriculum Lead of Modern Foreign Languages at George Pindar School. This is a full-time, permanent position and an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and passionate teacher to lead and shape the future of languages within our school. George Pindar School is an 11–16 secondary school in Scarborough with a strong sense of community. This is a particularly exciting time to join us, with student uptake in languages at GCSE set to be the highest it has been in three years for 2025/26.
Modern Foreign Languages is a small, supportive department with strong backing from senior leaders. As Curriculum Lead, you will play a key role in driving the vision for languages, inspiring both students and colleagues, and further raising the profile of MFL across the school. Languages are celebrated widely through initiatives such as our after-school Culture Club, partnerships with organisations including GCHQ, and planned international trips.
We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking leader who can teach French to Key Stage 4 and is committed to delivering high-quality, engaging lessons. You will have the opportunity to build on our well-resourced Key Stage 3 curriculum, shaping its development in line with current specifications and best practice, while bringing fresh ideas and innovation to the department. At George Pindar, we value creativity and encourage new approaches to teaching and learning. Our curriculum is designed to broaden students’ horizons and enhance their cultural capital.
Assessment is centrally planned to ensure consistency and to support a manageable workload, allowing staff to focus on what matters most, excellent teaching.
