Basildon (with occasional travel to Cambridgeshire)

Salary: £38-£40k basic

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Looking for your next big logistics challenge? We’re working exclusively with a well-established FMCG brand that’s on a mission to level up their warehouse operations - and they need a detail-obsessed stock control superstar to make it happen. This is a newly created role that sits at the heart of their warehousing strategy. You’ll take ownership of stock accuracy and system performance across three key sites - their main distribution centre in Basildon, a secondary storage facility, and a factory operation in March. If you love finding smarter ways to move stock and have a flair for systems implementation, this could be your perfect match.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading the rollout of new warehouse systems - including barcoding tools and potential WMS integration alongside Sage 200
  • Ensuring real-time stock accuracy across all storage and production sites
  • Managing and mentoring a Warehouse Administrator, and stepping in for the Warehouse Operations Manager when needed
  • Driving proactive stock allocation strategies to keep the DC lean and efficient
  • Owning the process for cycle counts, annual stocktakes, and discrepancy analysis
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (from Supply Chain to Sales) to keep product flowing and stock issues at bay
  • Working closely with a sister manufacturing site to improve visibility and coordination of goods movement
  • Regularly presenting warehouse insights to senior leadership

What we’re looking for:

  • Solid experience in warehouse, logistics or supply chain operations with a strong handle on stock control
  • Exposure to barcoding or WMS implementations (hands-on or project-based)
  • Comfortable navigating multi-site operations and external warehousing
  • Strong systems and Excel skills - you’re the go-to for a pivot table or process fix
  • A confident communicator who can bring others on the journey of operational change
  • People management experience is a bonus - or a desire to take on line-management as a next step

This is a high-impact role offering real scope to make improvements, lead systems transformation, and grow with a business that’s investing heavily in smarter, more scalable operations. Apply today or drop us a message to chat more about the role - we’ll walk you through everything you need to know.
