We are seeking to appoint a Residential Support Worker to join a motivated team to deliver high and consistent standards of care and support in our 3 bed home for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) in Newent, Gloucestershire.

You will be responsible for working as part of a team to provide support, understanding and nurturing, and to provide a positive role model for the children and young people placed in our care. You will work to a 3-week rolling rota, including weekends and sleep in shifts to include 5 contracted sleep-ins per month, to provide consistency and ease of predictability in your shift patterns.

Your duties & responsibilities will include:

  • Recording, attending meetings and adhering to the policies and procedures within the Home.
  • Engaging with children offering guidance, support and structure to their everyday lives.
  • Inspiring them to reach their full potential.
  • Providing transport for the children to access different provisions, education settings & days out (e.g., social events, shopping, cinema, swimming), contacts, visits, key work meetings and therapy sessions.

You Will Have:

  • One year’s previous childcare experience in a residential setting is desirable.
  • Level 3 Diploma in residential Childcare or equivalent qualification is desirable but support and training can be provided to achieve this.
  • A commitment to delivering high quality care according to OFSTED regulations.
  • Hold a current UK Driving License and have access to a vehicle which can be used for business purposes.
