Monmouth Small Animal Hospital began in 1989. In 2007, we expanded our ever-growing business with a major remodel, doubling the size of our practice to include 3 exam rooms, a large lobby, and a surgery suite with an attached treatment/pre-op/post-op room. Today, our full-service veterinary team cares for a range of small animals, including dogs, cats, birds, and beyond.
Our practice is excited to add a Managing Veterinarian to our team and provide a new generation of leadership to our well-established practice! We offer numerous opportunities for doctors to continually enhance their skills and develop professionally. If you are interested in surgery, reproduction, dentistry, and client communication, this is the place for you! We handle a wide caseload of soft tissue surgery, C-sections, and orthopedic surgeries. In addition to surgery, we see a diverse range of medical cases, including theriogenology (we're one of the only reproduction specialists in the area). We are equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, and laser therapy, and are willing to acquire any equipment that you need if we don’t already have it. We look forward to meeting you!
Essential Responsibilities:
- Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
- Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
- Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
- Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
- Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
- Maintain patients’ medical records.
- Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
- Appropriate state licensure.
- Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
