WORKING PATTERN

Duration: x2 4-hour days. Timings are as follows:

Mondays: 9am – 11am and 1pm – 3pm

Tuesdays: 10:15am – 12:15pm and 2:15pm – 4:15pm

Both sessions delivering to Level 2 Art and Design students.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

To become an Hourly Paid Lecturer in our Art & Design department, we need someone who is patient, enthusiastic and has a passion for teaching.

The successful candidate will have the chance to acquire new skills and develop their abilities in a wide range of activities.

We have a variety of students from the surrounding area; we are a welcoming and inclusive community that champions diversity and equality across our college.

Our departments collaborate to establish and uphold the inclusive HoW culture, we keep this in mind as we manage interactions with the public, fellow employees, and nearby schools.

Although this position is based at our Worcester campus, all applicants must be prepared to travel to our other campuses or surrounding areas as required.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

To find a more detailed list of your day-to-day responsibilities, please refer to the key roles and accountabilities section on our Job Description. You will support in many aspects, to name a few:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across Art & Design programmes, creating engaging learning experiences that support learner achievement.
  • Plan and prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, learning resources, individual learning plans (ILPs) and assessment schedules.
  • Assess learner progress through formative and summative assessment, providing timely and constructive feedback.
  • Develop and enhance the Art & Design curriculum and contribute to continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Support learners in achieving their goals, including embedding English, Mathematics and digital technologies within teaching where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate learner records, including progress, performance and assessment documentation.
  • Participate in learner recruitment, providing advice and guidance to prospective students.
  • Liaise with colleagues and relevant departments to ensure effective programme delivery and administration.
  • Promote and maintain safe working practices within teaching and learning environments.
