Location: Redditch and Bromsgrove campuses; travel to other campuses as required.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment, including lesson planning, monitoring progress, regular assessment and timely, constructive feedback.
- Support learners to achieve their goals through guidance and tailored learning experiences.
- Assess learners’ starting points (diagnostic), track progress through milestone assessments.
- Develop and use effective teaching resources such as schemes of work and lesson plans.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and achievement and share with relevant stakeholders.
- Address attendance, behaviour and engagement issues in partnership with curriculum teams.
- Contribute to curriculum development through meetings and collaboration.
- Support learner progress reporting and parent engagement.
- Assist with administrative tasks, learner data and group organisation.
- Work within the Maths team to raise learner aspirations and improve achievements.
- Conduct diagnostic and milestone assessments, provide feedback within agreed timescales.
- Teach a programme of hours, including revision and intervention sessions.
- Produce and develop teaching resources to support delivery.
- Keep accurate, timely information about attendance, achievement and progress for sharing with head of maths, curriculum managers, directors, parents and learners.
- Liaise with vocational teams and curriculum managers to address attendance, behaviour and engagement.
- Attend staff meetings to develop and improve curriculum.
- Support learner progress evenings with reports and meetings with parents.
- Take part in administrative activities supporting maths delivery.
- Take part in verification and standardisation activities where required.
- Keep up to date with developments and qualifications in the area of maths.
- Liaise with other departments such as Exams and MIS where appropriate.
- Holding an appropriate teaching qualification, or willingness to undertake and gain the Certificate in Education and Training within two years of appointment.
- Minimum level 2 qualification in both English and Maths, or ability to obtain them during employment.
- Experience in teaching mathematics to learners aged 16–18 or adults, ability to plan and deliver GCSE or functional mathematics.
- Successful completion of enhanced DBS, two references, and qualification validation check.
- Commitment to safeguarding and willingness to undertake mandatory training including Keeping Children Safe in Education and other relevant sessions.
- Participation in the college’s Performance Management Scheme and CPD programmes.
- Hours: 14.8 hours per week; desk duty time agreed with manager.
- Annual leave: 37 days plus eight public bank holidays and five discretionary days; pro‑rata for part‑time.

- Probationary period: 9 months, during which completion of induction and mandatory training is required.
- First aid and fire marshal duties may apply to certain staff in line with job specification.
