Heart of Worcestershire College is seeking an Electrical Installation Technician. This job description serves as a guide to the work required and may be updated by the College as necessary.
Conditions of Service:
- The appointment is subject to the Conditions of Service for Business Support Staff.
- All successful applicants will undergo the following checks:
- Enhanced DBS
- 2 x References, one of which must be your current or most recent employer
- Qualification validation check
Salary:
The salary range for this post is from £25,724 to £27,961 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience. Salary increases occur annually after passing the probationary period.
Hours of Work:
The hours of work will be based on 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum.
Annual Leave:
The post carries 25 annual leave days, plus eight public bank holidays and five concessionary days at the Principal’s discretion. After two years of continuous service, annual leave entitlement increases to 30 days per annum.
Pension Scheme:
The College operates an occupational pension scheme, namely the ‘Local Government Pension Scheme’.
Probationary Period:
All newly appointed staff must serve a 6-month probationary period, during which mandatory training must be completed.
First Aid & Fire Marshall:
Staff with these responsibilities are required to undertake first aid and/or fire marshal duties across the College.
Location:
The successful applicant will be based at Worcester but may be required to work at other locations from time to time.
Validation of Qualifications:
The College will validate qualifications by contacting the appropriate educational institute.
Contractual Requirement to Obtain a Qualification:
If obtaining a qualification is a contractual requirement, funding cannot be guaranteed.
Maths and English:
All staff are required to have a minimum level 2 qualification in both English and Maths.
Safeguarding:
The College is committed to safeguarding and expects all staff to share this commitment. Safeguarding training is mandatory during the probationary period.
