WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
To become an Electrical Installation Lecturer in our Engineering department, we need someone who is adaptable, knowledgeable, and motivated. The successful candidate will have the chance to acquire new skills and develop their abilities in a wide range of activities. We have a variety of students from the surrounding area, we are a welcoming and inclusive community that champions diversity and equality across our college. Our departments collaborate to establish and uphold the inclusive HoW culture, we keep this in mind as we manage interactions with the public, fellow employees, and nearby schools. Although this position is based at our Bromsgrove and Worcester campuses, all applicants must be prepared to travel to our other campuses or surrounding areas as required.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Plan and prepare, in accordance with the requirements of the curriculum.
- Deliver effective programmes of learning, through efficient classroom management.
- Work in accordance with the requirements of the College and examining bodies, implementing quality assurance requirements.
- Undertake monitoring and assessment of students’ and clients’ progress.
- Marking students’ work in a timely manner and providing feedback to learners.
- Complete and maintain accurate and effective systems of administration.
- Undertake continuous professional development in accordance with professional development policy.
- Provide support for students, to ensure the best possible satisfaction, attendance and achievement levels.
- Maintain safe working practices at all times and ensure that statutory requirements are met.
- Undertake the duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
- Carry out your duties and responsibilities at all times in compliance with College policies.
- To undertake such other duties, commensurate with the post, which the College management may reasonably and occasionally require.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- To commit to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE:
The appointment is subject to the Conditions of Service for Academic Staff. The work pattern of a Lecturer is not necessarily linked to the traditional academic year.
SALARY:
The salary range for this post is from £25,599 - £39,725 per annum. Starting salary will be dependent upon experience and qualifications.
TEACHING QUALIFICATION:
Applicants are required to hold an appropriate teaching qualification or be willing to undertake and gain the Certificate in Education and Training within 2 years of their appointment.
MATHS AND ENGLISH:
All staff are required to have a minimum level 2 qualification in both English and Maths.
SAFEGUARDING:
The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
HOURS OF WORK:
The hours of work will be based 37 hours per week x 52 weeks.
ANNUAL LEAVE:
The post carries 37 annual leave days with an additional eight public bank holidays plus a further five concessionary days.
PENSION SCHEME:
The College operates an occupational pension scheme, namely the ‘Teachers Pensions’.
PROBATIONARY PERIOD:
All newly appointed teaching staff have to serve a 9-month probationary period.
REFERENCES:
All candidates have to have 2 satisfactory references.
LOCATION:
The successful applicant will be based at Bromsgrove and Worcester Campuses, but may be required to work at other locations from time to time.
