As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom when a teacher is absent and supervise pupils in completing pre-prepared work. You’ll be responsible for maintaining a calm, focused and productive learning environment, ensuring students stay on task and behave appropriately. The role involves working with Key Stage 3 and 4 students (ages 11–16) across a range of subjects, supporting pupils of varying abilities and needs. You will not be required to plan lessons, but you will guide students through set tasks, manage behaviour effectively and provide feedback to the school at the end of the day.

What you will need:

  • Strong communication skills and confidence leading a classroom
  • A calm, professional approach to behaviour management
  • Ability to follow lesson plans and keep pupils engaged in their learning
  • Flexibility to work across a range of schools and subjects
  • A genuine interest in education and supporting young people’s progress

We’re fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All applicants will undergo thorough vetting, including enhanced DBS (with children’s barred list check and Update Service registration), references, and online checks as part of our compliance process.
