About the role
We are really excited at Heart of Supply to be advertising this 1:1 Teaching Assistant role, starting April 2026. This is a Monday to Friday, term-time only, temporary but ongoing opportunity for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs. You will be working closely 1:1 with a pupil in a mixed Reception and KS1 class, supporting their learning, confidence and day-to-day school experience. The pupil has additional needs, including autism, so this 1:1 Teaching Assistant role would suit someone patient, caring and committed to making a genuine difference. What you will need:
- Experience supporting pupils in a school, nursery, or education-based setting
- Clear, professional communication and a proactive, reliable attitude, with the ability to work collaboratively with school staff
- A minimum of 6 weeks’ experience working with pupils in a similar setting in the UK
- A kind, confident, and calm approach, with a genuine passion for helping pupils succeed
- The ability to follow a teacher’s lead while using your initiative to support individuals and small groups
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience supporting pupils with additional needs would be advantageous
- A flexible and proactive attitude, ready to step into different classrooms and year groups
