Hours: 17.5 Hours per week - 4.30pm to 8.00pm Monday to Friday
Salary: £25,000.00 (full time 37.5 hours per week) Pro rata equates to £11,666.66 for 17.5 hours per week

We are looking for a reliable and caring Evening Housekeeper to join our team on a 6 month fixed term contract. We would also welcome applications from anyone wishing to join our bank staff.
Main duties of the job
Do you have an eye for detail and take pride in providing first rate housekeeping services? As a member of the Housekeeping team, you will deliver a high standard of cleanliness throughout the hospice ensuring that an efficient, effective and comprehensive palliative care service is provided, maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for patients, visitors, families, carers, colleagues and volunteers. Up to date knowledge of COSHH helpful. Flexibility will be required as the role will also form part of the team providing housekeeping support across the main hospice site. Consideration of your surroundings is vital; care, compassion and discretion required at all times.

Job responsibilities
- Carry out daily cleaning of patients’ rooms and en suites, demonstrating sensitivity to the privacy and individual needs of patients, families/carers and colleagues
- Ensure infection control policies and procedures are adhered to when carrying out duties.
- Vacuum all floor surfaces to the required standards and carry out periodic shampooing of carpets and spot shampooing as appropriate.
- Damp dusting and cleaning of furniture, fittings, telephones, ledges, skirting boards, banisters, window sills, internal partitions, pipes and radiators.
- To carry out such other duties which may reasonably be requested as this is a broad reflection of the current duties. It may be amended and developed in the light of experience.
Person specification
- Possess a minimum of 2 years relevant housekeeping experience
- Working knowledge of health and safety requirements including COSHH
- Experience of working within a Medical/Clinical environment would be advantageous.
- Experience of working within a team
- Experience of dealing with vulnerable people
