We are looking for a Senior Support Worker to work in our Service in Hampton Magna. The role requires a driver, flexibility and adaptability under pressure, a caring approach to support our customers and at least 2 years experience within the care industry. This is a 40 hour per week role (various shifts as needed) with a rate of £13.91 per hour.
Reports To: Service Manager
Purpose of the Job
To support the Operations Manager and Service Managers in delivering effective, outcome focused day‑to‑day delivery of high‑quality support, promoting an empowering culture that values equality and diversity, and working collaboratively to run the service compliantly and smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Deputise in the absence of the Service/Registered Manager as required.
- Assist with the general day to day running of the service.
- Act as a responsible role model for other staff on the shift and support the staffing team in their duties when required.
- Develop professional and constructive relationships with customers and their families.
- Adhere to strict policies and guidelines within the health and social care industry (both internal and external).
- Ensure a positive and imaginative approach is adopted by the support team to meet the physical and emotional needs of the service users.
- Arrange and actively participate in the organisation and carry out of events and day trips.
- Liaise with external healthcare professionals regarding the care of the service users.
- Support with the completion of audits for Quality Assurance.
- Support with uploading and archiving historical records.
- Daily, ensure all customers receive the appropriate level of quality support.
- Actively challenge stigma and discrimination and raise awareness of Learning Disability issues among professionals, carers and people using the services.
- Assist in ensuring that staff training requirements are facilitated.
- Undertake duties within a framework that recognises the diversity of the people we support and encourages quality and opportunity for all.
- Participate in supervision, appraisal procedures and training as agreed or directed.
- Undertake other duties reasonably required for a post of this level of responsibility, as directed by the Registered Manager/Deputy Manager.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years experience in the care industry.
- Valid driving licence and ability to drive service vehicles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and adapt to pressure.
- Commitment to caring for individuals with learning disabilities and promoting their empowerment.
