We are now looking for a passionate and engaging Learning and Development Trainer to join our Learning & Development team.
The role
This is a hands-on and varied role where you will design, deliver and embed high-quality training across our Food stores, Funeral homes and Support Centre. You'll play a key part in ensuring colleagues have the skills, confidence and knowledge to perform at their best. You will deliver a blend of face-to-face workshops, virtual training and digital learning, while supporting the development and ongoing use of our Learning Management System (LMS).
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging training workshops across the Society using face-to-face, virtual and blended learning methods
- Create inspiring digital learning content and interactive eLearning modules within the LMS
- Support the maintenance, administration and effective use of the LMS, providing guidance to colleagues
- Adapt learning content to suit diverse operational teams and busy customer-focused environments
- Evaluate training effectiveness using feedback and data, continuously improving learning solutions
- Support the delivery of the annual training plan aligned to operational and business needs
- Work collaboratively with managers and subject matter experts to ensure training is practical and relevant
- Ensure training materials reflect current operational practice and regulatory requirements
- Promote a positive learning culture and encourage continuous development and internal progression
- Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance with internal policies and external requirements
About you
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic about developing people and confident delivering training in fast-paced operational environments.
Essential:
- Level 3 AET / PTLLS qualification
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Learning & Development or training role
- Minimum 1 years' experience of working in a fast-paced retail convenience and/or food service environment; including the design and delivery of appropriate learning solutions for customer-facing colleagues
- Experience designing and developing digital learning content
- LMS experience including content creation and administration
- Strong facilitation, presentation and communication skills
- Excellent organisation and planning skills
- Ability to analyse learning feedback and data to improve training effectiveness
Desirable:
- CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent) in Learning & Development
- ILM Coaching qualification
- Experience within a retail or customer-focused environment
