Salary – £30,000 - £35,000 -Salary is dependent on experience and will be assessed in line with the candidate’s skills, knowledge, and relevant expertise.
The Role…
We're looking for a talented
Junior Videographer to join Hearst UK's growing video team.
Working alongside our Videography Lead, you'll help deliver premium video content across some of the UK's biggest magazine brands, including Cosmopolitan, ELLE, Harper's Bazaar, Esquire, Men's Health, Good Housekeeping and many more.
One day you could be helping film an interview with an A-list celebrity.
The next you might be setting up a livestream for an all-company meeting, supporting an internal brand campaign, or preparing camera kits for a location shoot.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their career who has a solid grounding in camera operation and production, is highly organised, and wants to develop their skills working across editorial, commercial and internal productions.
Main Duties…
- Supporting the Videography Lead on studio and location shoots.
- Assisting with lighting, camera setup, audio and general production across a wide variety of productions.
- Operating cameras on shoots when required.
- Helping to produce high-quality video content featuring both internal contributors and celebrity talent.
- Supporting live production requirements, including livestreams and company-wide broadcasts.
- Creating internal communications content, including sizzle reels, company updates and employer branding videos.
- Assisting with post-production tasks, including assembling edits and preparing assets for delivery.
- Managing and maintaining our camera kit, ensuring equipment is organised, well maintained and production-ready.
- Managing equipment bookings through our booking system and ensuring shoots are properly prepared.
- Helping maintain our studio spaces and ensuring equipment is stored safely and consistently.
- Supporting the wider production team wherever needed to ensure shoots run smoothly.
- What We Are Looking For…
- Some professional experience filming video content, either in-house, agency-side, freelance or through substantial personal work.
- Experience operating Sony FX series cameras (or similar professional cinema cameras).
- A good understanding of lighting, composition and audio recording.
- Experience editing with Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to get stuck into every aspect of production.
- The ability to stay calm and organised in busy production environments.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working with colleagues, contributors and talent.
- Experience with livestreaming software such as OBS Studio or Restream.
- Experience working in a studio environment.
- Familiarity with professional audio equipment and wireless microphone systems.
- Experience filming interviews or social-first content.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, including After Effects.
- Experience managing production equipment or camera stores.
