Salary - £30,000 - £35,000 – Salary is dependent on experience and will be assessed in line with the candidates skills, knowledge and relevant experience.

As a Junior Management Accountant supporting our consumer business, you will work closely with the Management Accountant and Finance Manager to support monthly reporting, financial analysis and day-to-day finance operations. This role is ideal for someone early in their finance career who is keen to learn, develop strong commercial awareness and build a long-term career in management accounting. You will gain exposure to both finance and non-finance stakeholders and develop an understanding of how finance supports decision-making across the business.

You will be supported in developing technical accounting knowledge, commercial awareness and business partnering skills, with opportunities to grow your responsibilities over time.

Main Duties

  • Supporting month-end reporting activities, including journals, accruals and prepayments
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations with clear supporting documentation
  • Assisting with cost analysis and reporting
  • Supporting ad-hoc analysis and insight requests from the wider business
  • Building relationships with stakeholders across finance and operational teams
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working
  • Supporting the Management Accountant and Finance Manager with ongoing reporting and commercial projects

What We Are Looking For...

We are looking for someone who is curious, organised and eager to learn. This role would suit someone at the beginning of their finance career who wants to develop into a well-rounded management accountant within a supportive team environment. You do not need extensive experience, but you should demonstrate:

Essential

  • Degree in Accounting & Finance or similar discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Studying towards, or interested in studying towards, ACCA/CIMA
  • Comfortable using Excel, including formulas, pivot tables and data analysis tools
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive and proactive attitude

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Experience working with large data sets or financial reporting
