Hearst UK is looking for a Tester to join the Good Housekeeping Institute within the Food & Drink category.
This role involves working with the Food & Drink team to test products such as Christmas mince pies, hampers, red wine, and vegan protein powders for editorial and commercial purposes. You will also conduct research into marketplace products and consumer trends as needed.
Test content spans multiple Hearst brands including Good Housekeeping, Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Cosmopolitan, Elle, and Esquire.
Our testing results influence purchasing decisions and assure consumers of product quality and value.
About the Role
- Manage multiple projects with effective time management and organization.
- Organize and run taste test panels with consumers for commercial projects.
- Use Excel to manage, analyze, and summarize data.
- Communicate testing results clearly to stakeholders.
- Maintain a proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
- Coordinate product deliveries with the team.
- Suggest innovative testing ideas and process improvements.
- Participate in training to enhance skills and adapt to new tools and processes.
- Conduct product and market research to inform testing strategies and stay updated on market trends.
- Review editorial proofs, artwork, and factual information, including stockists.
- Occasionally create video content for the website.
About You
- Interest and practical skills in food and drink products, including basic cooking skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with problem-solving abilities.
- Flexible and mature approach to work.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Capable of handling high volumes of work accurately and meeting deadlines.
- Honest and objective in opinions.
- Positive attitude, enthusiastic, proactive, and able to work under pressure.
- Previous hospitality experience is desirable.
- Experience in alcohol tasting is desirable.
