This is a great opportunity to join the sub-editing team of one of Britain’s biggest lifestyle brands. You’ll work across Good Housekeeping’s print and digital platforms, ensuring content is accurate, trustworthy, and engaging.

The Role

As Art Editor for our Women’s Lifestyle Brands, you will help bring the creative visions of Cosmopolitan, Prima, and Red to life. Supporting the Art Director, you’ll work on print layouts, digital assets, event branding, marketing materials, and commercial projects, contributing to the visual identity of these iconic brands with fresh, engaging design.

Main Duties

  • Support the Art Director in creating compelling layouts for each title.
  • Assist in executing the vision of the Creative Directors, demonstrating creative flair.
  • Make innovative design suggestions to improve and differentiate the titles.
  • Create standout layouts that are both compelling and on-brand.
  • Design for digital platforms, ensuring brand consistency.
  • Collaborate with internal departments on various projects including licensing, accreditation, commercial, events, apps, and newsletters.
  • Perform color correction and basic retouching as needed.
  • Work with Editors and department heads to keep content fresh and innovative.
  • Maintain consistent visual standards across all brand elements.
  • Source or commission illustration and still life photography when required.
  • Ensure smooth workflow processes.
  • Mentor and train junior team members.

What We Are Looking For

  • Significant experience in magazine design or similar editorial studio work.
  • Ability to create complex, creative layouts and package stories effectively.
  • Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects.
  • Excellent time management skills to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
