Hearst UK operates a hybrid working model of four days per week in the office and one day working from home. Our office is based at House of Hearst, 30 Panton Street, St James’s, London, SW1Y 4AJ, where teams collaborate in person and connect across brands and functions.

As the Visuals Executive, Entertainment (12 Month FTC), you will report to and work closely with the Photo Director ensuring the most engaging and illustrative images are used across various platforms on Inside Soap, Best Magazine and Digital Spy, as well as special projects. The Visuals Executive plays a key role in ensuring the soaps content is delivered on time each week.

Main Duties

  • Take ownership of all things soaps-related across our brands, including researching and uploading the weekly soaps images to Inside Soap, Digital Spy and Best Magazine within their asset management systems to meet content deadlines.
  • Liaise with soap and TV reps to source high quality images that align with each brand’s identity.
  • Maintain the Inside Soap archive to a high standard.
  • Source engaging, illustrative content for Best Magazine, Inside Soap magazine, Digital and the Ents Portfolio’s special projects keeping in mind each brand’s unique style, tone and housekeeping.
  • Licensing, sourcing, making basic edits and uploading videos to Digital Spy’s video content publishing platform.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the Production and Editorial teams to support the smooth progression of layouts and content across the Entertainment Portfolio.
  • Working the weekly press nights on a rotational basis.
  • On occasion, lead the picture desk in the absence of senior picture team members and on press nights.
  • Assist with weekly newsletter picture research.

  • A self-starter who’s able to work independently at pace, as well as collaboratively with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of UK/Australian based soaps or a keen interest to learn them.
  • Understanding of UK copyright law and how that relates to imagery and video across varying platforms.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Provide bold, exciting and refreshing ideas for special projects within the Entertainment Portfolio.
  • Flexibility and highly organised with the ability to manage a demanding workload.
