Esquire is looking for a world-class Style Director who will act as writer and commissioning stylist to lead its fashion vision across print, digital, social, video, events, and commercial platforms. This high-profile role will drive Esquire’s overarching fashion strategy, shaping the brand’s position in the style landscape with wit, authority, and creativity. From writing, editing, and commissioning features and trend stories to styling and overseeing shoots, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering bold, distinctive content that defines Esquire’s fashion identity.

We’re seeking a candidate with strong commercial acumen, a substantial contacts book, and established relationships across the fashion industry. You’ll develop and maintain client partnerships, conceive innovative solutions with the commercial team, and safeguard editorial excellence across all channels.

Reporting to the Editor in Chief and working closely with the Style Director – Watches and Site Director, you’ll combine editorial expertise with business strategy to elevate Esquire’s fashion impact and engage readers daily with fresh ideas in fashion, style, and grooming.

Main Duties
  • Conceive and drive the overarching fashion strategy for Esquire across print, digital, social, and video platforms.
  • Shape Esquire’s fashion identity, ensuring innovation and alignment across all channels.
  • Edit the style section of esquire.com/uk, working with the Style Director – Watches and Site Director, writing at least one daily style story and contributing to the stand-up meeting with story ideas.
  • Write and contribute to style, fashion, watches, and grooming content for the print magazine.
  • Assist with commissioning and styling of main fashion shoots.
Content Creation and Social Media
  • Develop and own social media franchises for esquire.com/uk.
  • Contribute to Esquire\'s weekly newsletters with engaging style-related updates.
  • Plan and star in original fashion and style video content.
  • Event hosting and brand representation: host talks, events, and participate in scheduling key Esquire tentpole moments.
  • Represent Esquire at industry events, including evenings and weekends, acting as an ambassador for Hearst UK and its values.
Commercial Collaboration and Relationship Management
  • Bridge editorial and commercial operations by navigating and owning key client relationships.
  • Manage DMR and maintain relationships with key brands.
  • Collaborate with commercial and creative solutions teams to develop innovative projects across the style, grooming, and watches categories.
Styling and Commissioning
  • Oversee styling and the commissioning of fashion and still-life shoots as required.
Additional Duties and Development
  • Contribute ideas and content to all Esquire properties, ensuring cutting-edge coverage of men’s style.
  • Collaborate closely with the Style Director – Watches, Site Director, and Editor in Chief to align editorial and commercial output.
  • Undertake further duties as assigned, utilising core skills and responsibilities.
Ambassadorial and Personal Presence
  • Represent Esquire with wit, authority, and breadth in the public sphere.
  • Regularly attend key industry events to maintain brand visibility and credibility.
