As the Deputy Multiplatform Editor you will play a vital role in this historic brand, taking a lead on major cultural and fashion moments, helping to drive the digital output while collaborating with the print, social, video and e-commerce teams to deliver brilliant storytelling. Along the way, you'll represent ELLE UK at industry events, build strong relationships, and play a part in reader experiences – all while keeping deadlines on track and ensuring ELLE UK’s unique voice shines through. This is an exciting role for a journalist who has experience in writing and editing editorial content for a luxury or lifestyle brand and has a strong interest in culture and entertainment, from the best cult TV series everyone is watching to the musicians we’ll all be listening to.

Main Duties

  • Writing daily news and features for ELLE online, with a particular focus on culture and lifestyle
  • Overseeing and being responsible for the performance of the Life & Culture section
  • Editing, proof-reading and approving content for publication, including headlines and imagery
  • Leading daily digital conferences
  • Driving new content and traffic-growth initiatives
  • Commissioning a range of diverse voices to contribute to the ELLE website
  • Supporting the ELLE Multiplatform Director and EIC in hitting digital targets
  • Assisting with video production process for ELLE and generating new video content ideas
  • Assisting the multiplatform director in managing a team of writers and editors
  • Contributing to the print magazine when required
  • Supporting on ELLE events with coverage when required
  • Supporting with elements of ELLE’s social media strategy
  • Monitoring and analysing web traffic data and compiling internal reports
  • Monitoring and maintaining site SEO and implementing change where appropriate
  • Writing and helping to implement commercial strategies
  • Editing and sign-off of weekly newsletter, plus any other newsletters and marketing / promotional mail-outs
  • Rebuilding print content for online when required
  • Representing ELLE at external press and key partner events
  • Deputising for Multiplatform Director when required

What We Are Looking For

  • Proven digital editing experience on a luxury fashion or lifestyle website
  • First rate writing and editing skills
  • Someone who is organised, meticulous and able to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Proven track record of traffic growth
  • Excellent knowledge of Google Discover and SEO best practice
  • Previous experience managing and developing younger writers
  • Understanding of the ELLE brand and the luxury digital landscape
  • Experience in using analytics tools to analyse data and implement improvements
  • A confident communicator
