Responsibilities
- Assisting brand editors/leads in creating and updating flat plans for print products.
- Liaising with brand editors, the portfolio Managing Editor, and art/pictures team colleagues at regular production meetings.
- Working closely with brand teams to ensure copy moves through production systems as efficiently as possible to meet print deadlines.
- Liaising with brand editors and maintaining each brand’s style guide, plus supporting documentation such as brand bibles and how-to guides.
- Working closely with the Managing Editor and senior editorial leadership across the Entertainment Portfolio, building strong relationships with brand editors and leads on Best, Digital Spy, and Inside Soap to ensure brand house style, editorial standards, and best practice are consistently applied across all print products.
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role on a consumer title; fast‑paced consumer publishing environment, understanding deadlines, workflows, and print production.
- A strong interest in general entertainment, including soaps; actively follow TV, celebrity and soaps, understanding what engages mass‑market audiences.
- Experience using InDesign and print content management systems; confident working in InDesign and comfortable navigating print CMS tools as part of a live production workflow.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail; proven track record of spotting errors before they reach print, strong grasp of house style, legal sensitivity, and quality control.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle priorities; manage multiple tasks, stay on top of changing priorities, and keep things moving without dropping the ball.
- Calm under pressure; stay focused when deadlines are tight, plans change, and pace ramps up, trusted to get it done.
- Digital subbing experience (desirable); experience working on digital content — editing for speed, accuracy and tone across online platforms.
