This is a brilliant opportunity to join the sub-editing team of one of Britain’s biggest and best-loved lifestyle brands. You’ll be working across Good Housekeeping’s print publications and digital platforms, helping to ensure all content is accurate, trustworthy and engaging.
The Role… As Junior Art Editor for our Women’s Lifestyle Brands you will play a key role in bringing the creative visions of Cosmopolitan, Prima and Red to life. Supporting the Art Director, you’ll work across a variety of platforms — from print layouts and digital assets to event branding, marketing materials and commercial projects. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the look and feel of three iconic brands, helping them stand out with fresh, engaging design.
Main Duties…
- To support the Art Director to create brilliant layouts across each title.
- Support the Art Director to execute the vision of the Creative Directors, with the ability to dazzle with creative flair.
- Make innovative design suggestions in all areas to ensure the titles continue to improve and beat the competition.
- Design standout layouts that are both compelling and on-brand.
- Design for digital platforms, ensuring the aesthetic of the brands aligns.
- Design in collaboration with other internal departments from licensing and accreditation to commercial and events, apps and newsletters.
- Undertake any color correcting or basic retouching required.
- Work with the Editors and relevant department heads to keep all aspects of the magazines fresh and innovative.
- Help ensure the look of all elements of the brands remain solid and consistent.
- To source and/or commission illustration and still life photography if required.
- Pay close attention to the workflow and help ensure its smooth running.
- Mentor and train more junior members of the team.
What We Are Looking For…
- Substantial experience in magazine design or similar studio work on editorial projects.
- Be able to demonstrate an ability to create complex layouts and package stories creatively.
- Be comfortable designing across all platforms.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work on multiple deadlines.
- Able to mentor and train junior members of the team.
- To be able to work in a collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects.
