Role

As the Acting Fashion Assistant, you will assist in the production of all fashion pages for our Luxury brands Harper’s Bazaar and Elle, including prepping for shoots and assisting on set. You will work closely with the Fashion Director and the commercial teams to manage editorial credits and maintain advertiser relationships. You will provide administrative support to the fashion team, helping to organise the diary for press days, launches and fashion weeks, compile the weekly fashion calendar, and be the point of contact for PRs, ensuring attendance at advertiser events.

Main Duties

  • Assist in preparation and execution of fashion shoots, including assisting on set.
  • Conduct product call-ins for shoots (clothes, accessories, jewellery).
  • Oversee merchandising on shoots, including price research, spelling accuracy and credit checking, in liaison with the subs department.
  • Assemble still life pages for the front of book.
  • Collaborate with the Fashion Cupboard Manager to keep merchandise organised and returned on time.
  • Coordinate with the pictures team and art dept to ensure still life merchandise is booked in and out, shot on time.
  • Represent the fashion team and brands at press days and events as required by the Fashion Director.
  • Compile digital galleries as required.
  • Provide general administration support and assist the FD and commercial team to manage editorial credits and advertiser relationships.
  • Manage the fashion team diary for press days, launches and fashion weeks; compile the weekly fashion calendar and liaise with PRs for advertiser event attendance.
  • Support Elle Collective and Bazaar membership projects as required, including attending events.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience with using a Mac and with downloading/uploading images; experience calling in PR images, downloading, labelling and processing for art and subs.
  • Relevant experience on a national magazine, including assisting stylists with call-ins and assisting on set for main fashion shoots.
  • Availability to attend shoots and events outside of regular hours; ability to represent brands at commercial events.
  • Ability to work as part of a creative team and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation, efficiency and confidence.
  • In-depth knowledge of Harper’s Bazaar and Elle brands, fashion trends, luxury and womenswear PR contacts.
  • Working knowledge of advertising partners and the DMR system; ability to work to deadlines and multi-task.
