We have an exciting opportunity within our Continuity and Navigation team at Hearst Networks EMEA in our London office! Responsible for the strategic planning and technical execution of all on‑air graphics and voiceovers, we are looking for a driven self‑starter eager to shape the viewer experience across our channels. As a Navigation Co‑ordinator, you'll play a critical role in strategising and planning On‑Air graphic elements that guide our audiences through a diverse range of programming. Your primary focus will be on developing and technically executing graphic plans that not only align with our brand's vision but also enhance viewer engagement and drive retention across our UK and International channels.

You’ll be responsible for the creative and strategic execution of voiceover scripts, including managing talent recordings, directing voiceovers when needed, and overseeing script development to ensure all continuity elements seamlessly reflect our brand’s identity. We do not expect applicants to have direct previous experience, but we are looking for transferable skills such as strong teamwork and time management. This is a permanent position. This role will be hybrid based in the London office Tuesday – Thursday, working on exciting, award‑winning brands like Sky HISTORY and Crime+Investigation.

Key Responsibilities
  • On‑Air Strategy: Implement agreed on‑air navigation and continuity approach, ensuring all output follows brand guidelines across platforms, and flagging performance observations or issues back to the senior team.
  • Graphic Planning: Plan and deliver the weekly UK on‑air graphics schedules for two UK channels to Sky Playout, and coordinate monthly international graphics deliveries to our playout houses, ensuring correct placement and timing.
  • Produce, Direct & Voiceover Planning: Work with talent to refine continuity voiceover scripts across multiple channels, assisting with voiceover direction while coordinating the end‑to‑end VO workflow – including talent bookings, script grid creation and checks – and delivering weekly audio files to Sky Playout.
  • Performance Analysis and Adaptation: Interpret performance results and implement changes.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all voiceover links and amendments are accurately recorded in the audio and scheduling system and verify all scheduled continuity announcements before transmission.
  • Innovation and Trends: Stay ahead of industry trends and technological advancements in On‑Air Navigation, continuously proposing and integrating innovative ideas to keep the brand’s visual presentation fresh and engaging.
  • Intern Support: Provide support for the On‑Air Interns working in Continuity & Navigation.
  • Problem‑Solving: Quickly identify and address incidents with a professional approach, ensuring timely resolutions.
  • Collaborative Projects: Work closely with peers in the On‑Air Planning department on broader business projects, such as channel launches and special programming stunts.
  • Operational Expertise: Develop a practical understanding of transmission playouts and manage projects aimed at improving continuity and navigation, including in‑programme graphics, full‑screen graphics and branded channel logos.
  • Cross‑Departmental Liaison: Handle day‑to‑day queries and ensure smooth communication.
  • Leadership Support: Provide full coverage and support in the absence of the Senior Navigation Executive and interns.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Increase your knowledge and understanding of key stakeholder teams such as Playout, Media Planning, Programme Planning, Creative, Compliance and Production.
  • AI Tools & Ways of Working: Embrace and use approved AI tools to support day‑to‑day navigation tasks – e.g., drafting and checking scripts, improving documentation, and speeding up admin – while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and escalating any issues or risks.

  • Have experience in workflows related to on‑air outputs for GFX generation, scriptwriting, voiceover ingest and voice‑over artist booking and coordination, recording and strategic planning.
  • Have experience in script and voice‑over direction.
  • Be familiar with broadcasting standards.
