Hearst UK operates an in office policy with flexible Fridays. Our office is based at House of Hearst, 30 Panton Street, St James's, London, SW1Y 4AJ, where teams collaborate in person and connect across brands and functions.
Salary - £45,000 - £55,000. Salary is dependent on experience and will be assessed in line with the candidate's skills, knowledge, and relevant expertise.
As the Specials Production Editor you will oversee the end-to-end production and delivery of special publications, bookazines and supplement content, ensuring all pages are accurate, compliant, and ready for press. You will act as the key link between editorial, design, commercial, and operations teams, maintaining workflows, schedules, and quality standards. This role combines hands-on production expertise with operational oversight, while also contributing to new content ideas and ensuring content rights are managed correctly.
Main Duties
- Manage production workflows, schedules, and deadlines with the Head of Operations.
- Act as first point of contact for content rights and legal queries, coordinating with relevant teams.
- Ensure all reused content follows correct processes, including duplication and system tagging.
- Maintain and update brand templates and guidelines.
- Track and document content reuse across titles in Censhare, our content system.
- Coordinate with Editors, design teams, both internal and external, and commercial teams to review pages and flat plans.
- Oversee final page checks, ensuring PDFs render correctly and all content is prepared and approved for press.

- Experience in a production editorial or managing editor role.
- Strong understanding of print production workflows and content systems. (Censhare desirable).
- Excellent organisation and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working independently and managing large scale projects.
