House Beautiful is a passion brand for the home‐obsessed. Under new leadership and with a refreshed editorial vision, it is winning a bigger and more engaged audience across its range of print, digital and live event platforms. This role plays a pivotal part in the brand's evolution.
Salary
Circa £54,000. Salary is dependent on experience and will be assessed in line with the candidate's skills, knowledge, and relevant expertise.
The Role
As Deputy Editor, you will edit and shape cross‐platform content and bring the stories behind House Beautiful to life. Reporting to the Editor‐in‐Chief, you will be an experienced writer and editor that delights in all things interiors: shopping, decorating and entertaining trends, room makeovers and sneak peeks into real homes – along with original ideas and a contacts book of feature writers and industry PRs. An entrepreneurial spirit and a drive to help media brands thrive into the future is a must.
Main Duties
- Editing and signing off all print copy before it goes to the Editor‐in‐Chief
- Attending digital planning meetings throughout the week, contributing ideas and writing articles
- Managing and commissioning content and profiles for House Beautiful's "Renovate" and "Living" print sections, as well as some of the supplements
- Leading the initiative to build the editorial offers and benefits for House Beautiful Members
- Managing one senior writer

- You're a brilliant editor with a passion for beautifully crafted copy.

- You know how to create a content package that works across multiple platforms and use insights to leverage the largest audience for it.
- You have a brilliant contacts book, filled with writers and publicists that are relevant to the House Beautiful universe.
- You have at least five years' experience at editor‐level on a consumer publication.
- You're resourceful and entrepreneurial.
