The Role… As the Head of Commercial Audio & Video, you will lead the charge in unlocking revenue from Hearst's fast‑growing video portfolio. Your focus will be building and selling innovative commercial video opportunities – from sponsorships and branded content to programmatic and partnerships – that align with our brands' editorial strengths and advertisers' needs. Working hand‑in‑hand with sales teams, producers, and brand leaders, you will ensure our audio & video products are packaged for success and consistently deliver strong results for clients and audiences alike.
Main Duties…
- Take ownership of the commercial audio & video budget from the outset & delivery of the overall revenue expectations of the business.
- Accountable for reporting specific revenues to senior management – identifying opportunities and areas for growth.
- Lead the sales strategy, creating new opportunities across sponsorships, branded content, programmatic, and partnerships.
- Partner with individual sellers to sell sponsorships and partnerships identifying client specific opportunities across verticals.
- Partner with sales teams to package and pitch video products that deliver measurable results for clients.
- Work with the Director of video and brand portfolio leads to align video concepts with advertiser needs while protecting editorial integrity.
- Build strong relationships with advertisers and agencies, acting as the go‑to expert for Hearst's video capabilities in the market.
- Identify developments across the audio & video landscape that presents Hearst with an opportunity to commercialise – from new platforms to specific content strands.
- Monitor performance data to optimise sales approaches and demonstrate the value of our audio & video portfolio commercially.
- Represent Hearst in market at industry events evangelising about the Hearst video story.
What We Are Looking For…
- Proven track record in selling and monetising audio & video or digital media products, with clear revenue results to point to.
- Strong network of advertiser and agency relationships, and the ability to open doors and close deals.
- Experience packaging creative media solutions that balance client objectives with editorial credibility.
- Commercially minded with strong analytical skills – able to interpret performance data and use it to optimise sales strategies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence pitching at senior client level.
- Ability to work independently whilst simultaneously aligning with and guiding internal stakeholders on accelerating video across the matrix.
- Excellent knowledge of emerging video trends, formats, and monetisation models (e.g. programmatic, branded content, sponsorships) is highly desirable.
