ELLE and Harper's Bazaar are two of the world's most iconic fashion and lifestyle brands, renowned for their distinctive visual identities and innovative design. We are seeking a talented, detail-oriented Designer to join our art team, working across both titles to create beautiful, engaging layouts and digital visuals that reflect each magazine's unique aesthetic. This is an exciting opportunity for a creative with a strong eye for typography, photography, and layout, who can adapt their style between two distinct brands.
Main Duties:
- Design visually striking layouts for ELLE and Harper's Bazaar, across print and digital platforms.
- Collaborate closely with the Art Director, Picture Editors, and Editors to bring features to life.
- Art-direct shoots when required, ensuring visual consistency with each brand's identity.
- Create assets for social, digital, and marketing use, maintaining brand coherence.
- Manage layout amends, retouching requests, and pre-press preparation to meet production deadlines.
- Contribute fresh design ideas to elevate the visual storytelling of both magazines.
- Stay up to date with design trends, fashion photography, and editorial innovation.
What We Are Looking For:
- Proven design experience within a magazine or similar editorial environment.
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator essential; After Effects a bonus).
- Strong typographic skills and an understanding of visual hierarchy.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines with excellent attention to detail.
- A team player who thrives in a creative, fast-paced environment.
- Flexible and confident in switching between ELLE's dynamic, modern tone and Harper's Bazaar's refined, luxury aesthetic.
