Overview
In this role you will lead the technical production behind Hearst UK’s live events, delivering high‑quality audiovisual experiences and social-first video content.
You’ll oversee The Randolph, the House of Hearst’s events hub, and manage a network of freelance AV specialists to support a busy events calendar.
Working with editorial, commercial and events teams, you will create world‑class experiences that amplify Hearst brands.

Responsibilities
- Oversee audiovisual setup, testing, and live execution for events at The Randolph (lighting, sound, video)
- Maintain, service, and track AV equipment ensuring safety and quality standards
- Recruit, train, and manage freelance AV freelancers and operators
- Manage social video output from events, ensuring on-brand production for social channels and partnerships
- Collaborate with Events and Social teams to align AV/video elements with brand priorities
- Create efficient pre- and post-event workflows for AV/video requests and ensure quality/turnaround
- Support budget tracking and optimize resource use across events
- Key requirements
- Proven experience managing audiovisual production for live, hybrid or broadcast events in corporate/brand/editorial/agency settings
- Strong technical expertise across AV systems including lighting, audio, projection, livestreaming
- Experience producing social-first video with professional cameras and mobile devices; understanding platform-native storytelling (Instagram, Tik Tok, You Tube)
- Confident at leading and coaching freelance AV staff and coordinating external production partners
- Experience building/maintaining a freelance network for peak periods and large events
- Excellent organizational and project management skills; ability to juggle multiple events
- Proactive, solution‑oriented approach with ability to troubleshoot under pressure
- Strong understanding of brand standards and commercial partnership requirements for brand-safe content
