As the Homes Assistant you will be responsible for assisting and supporting the Country Living and House Beautiful team in all aspects of your work. Reporting into the Group Style and Interiors Director you will work closely with the homes group to create content that aligns with the wider business strategies.
Main Duties…
- Attend news desks meetings across both House Beautiful and Country Living with a view to pitching and contributing to daily online features.
- Support the team to learn Newsletter skills and builds.
- Calling in images, following up hi-res image requests and maintenance of PR imagery to support the Picture Director.
- Supporting the Group Style and Interiors Director and Style and Interiors Editors with commissioning and invoicing.
- Generating editorial ideas for stories, and editing shopping pages for print under the direction of the Group Style and Interiors Director.
- Social content creation and training to edit social videos.
- An awareness of the commercial areas of the business (including licensing) and contributing when required.
- Gain an understanding of key strategies across both brands for growth and audience engagement such as ecommerce, the marketplace, events and awards.
- Assisting on shoots as and when required - overseeing refreshments, organising lunches, packing props and organising couriers.
- Co-ordinating reader offers, competitions and discounts.
- Keeping the cupboard tidy.
- To be an ambassador of Hearst UK and its values.

- An individual with a proven interest and passion for interiors, style and design and a keen eye on developments in this area.
- Someone with the ability to research and write digital features at pace.
- An understanding of the opportunities for multi-platform content and the ability to switch effortlessly between different platforms.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Visual skills, an eye for detail, design and colour, plus writing skills.
- Someone with a highly collaborative, can-do and flexible attitude with good communication and listening skills who will work well within the entire Homes hub.
