In this exciting role, you will generate and write compelling content for Best magazine’s real-life pages, as well as contribute to the Entertainment studio’s real-life ideas. Your creativity and keen eye for new, original stories will shine as you source ideas from newspapers, TV shows, and your own inspiration.
Key responsibilities include:
- Story Generation: Find fresh, original real-life story ideas for both the print edition and its spin-offs.
- Research & Interviews: Assist with research and set up interviews for the real-life section of the Entertainment studio, identifying relevant individuals to bring ideas to life.
- Picture Research & Legal Knowledge: Conduct picture research for stories you’re involved in, while ensuring you have a solid understanding of the legal aspects.
- Event Attendance & Networking: Attend events, build a network of contacts, and stay connected with the latest trends in the real-life genre.
- Digital Platform Management: Upload stories to our digital platform, DS, and contribute to the development of forum content into engaging story ideas.
This role is perfect for someone with a passion for storytelling, a knack for research, and a strong interest in digital content creation. You’ll help shape the stories that resonate with our readers and make an impact in both print and digital platforms.
ABOUT YOU
- Some experience working as a writer on a national paper or weekly magazine.
- Contacts outside of news agencies is desirable.
- Knowledge of digital uploading and SEO is desirable.
- Knowledge of picture tagging and legals is desirable.
