Hearst UK operate a hybrid working model of four days per week in the office and one day working from home. Our office is based at House of Hearst, 30 Panton Street, St James’s, London, SW1Y 4AJ, where teams collaborate in person and connect across brands and functions.
The Role… As the Deputy Multiplatform Editor, you will play a key role in shaping Harper’s Bazaar’s digital presence, driving growth across fashion content and supporting the brand’s wider multiplatform strategy. Working closely with the Multiplatform Director, Editor-in-Chief, and wider editorial team, you’ll oversee day-to-day digital output while identifying new opportunities to expand audience and engagement. This is a hands‑on role combining writing, editing, strategy and team leadership within a fast‑paced luxury media environment.
Main Duties…
- Write, edit and publish daily fashion‑led news and features, ensuring high editorial standards across content, headlines, imagery and SEO.
- Own the performance and growth of the Fashion section, using data, analytics and audience insights to shape content strategy and drive traffic.
- Lead content planning, commissioning and contributor management, bringing in diverse voices and developing new formats and initiatives.
- Support the Multiplatform Director and Editor‑in‑Chief with digital targets, planning and day‑to‑day workflow, including commercial content delivery.
- Help manage and develop a team of writers and editors, while contributing to video production, newsletters and wider multiplatform output.
- Monitor site performance, SEO and analytics, producing insights and implementing improvements to optimise growth.
- Represent the brand at industry events and deputise for the Multiplatform Director when required.
What We Are Looking For…
- Proven experience in a senior digital editorial role within luxury fashion or lifestyle media, with a track record of driving audience growth and engagement.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail and high editorial judgement.
- Strong understanding of SEO, Google Discover and digital publishing best practices, with experience applying these to improve performance.
- Confident using analytics tools to interpret data and inform editorial and content strategy decisions.
- Experience managing or mentoring writers in a fast‑paced environment, with strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Deep understanding of the Harper’s Bazaar brand and the luxury fashion landscape.
- Confident communicator, comfortable working with senior stakeholders and representing the brand externally.
