As a Junior Management Accountant supporting our consumer business, you will work closely with the Management Accountant and Finance Manager to support monthly reporting, financial analysis and day‑to‑day finance operations. This role is ideal for someone early in their finance career who is keen to learn, develop strong commercial awareness and build a long‑term career in management accounting. You will be supported in developing technical accounting knowledge, commercial awareness and business partnering skills, with opportunities to grow your responsibilities over time.
Main Duties
- Supporting month‑end reporting activities, including journals, accruals and prepayments
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations with clear supporting documentation
- Assisting with cost analysis and reporting
- Supporting ad‑hoc analysis and insight requests from the wider business
- Building relationships with stakeholders across finance and operational teams
- Identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working
- Supporting the Management Accountant and Finance Manager with ongoing reporting and commercial projects
Qualifications & Criteria
- A genuine interest in finance and commercial performance
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to understand the story behind the numbers
- Proactive attitude and willingness to ask questions
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines
- Confidence working with data and spreadsheets
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
- Positive mindset and willingness to learn from feedback
- Degree in Accounting & Finance or similar discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Studying towards, or interested in studying towards, ACCA/CIMA
- Comfortable using Excel, including formulas, pivot tables and data analysis tools
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role
- Experience working with large data sets or financial reporting
