Heard. is a premium fast-casual smash burger concept from 2 Michelin-starred chef Jordan Bailey, born from a desire to take an everyday classic and make it quietly exceptional. We combine top-quality, thoughtfully sourced ingredients with the rigour and technique of the world’s best kitchens. No gimmicks, no shortcuts - just maximum flavour done right. After a massive year touring the UK’s biggest events, we opened our permanent home in Borough last year, pairing our signature burgers with considered natural wines, craft beer, and a warm, efficient service style. Now, with our second site in Soho thriving, we are looking for dedicated Grill Chefs to join our kitchen team - people who take genuine pride in precision, thrive in a high-energy team, and believe the last burger of the shift should look and taste just as perfect as the first.

The Heard Package:

  • Pay: £14 - £16 per hour OTE (depending on experience and which Heard. restaurant you’re hired for).
  • Benefits: Access to benefits platform from day one including 50% off food and drink in our sites, cycle to work scheme and high street discounts.
  • Professional Growth: Paid training and qualifications to help you level up your skills on the line and beyond.
  • Clear Progression: Built-in career development. We rotate you across all kitchen sections and love promoting from within - this role is your direct path to Senior Grill Chef or Junior Sous Chef as we expand.
  • Your Birthday off!

What You’ll Do:

  • Relentless Consistency: Deliver perfection on every plate, no matter how busy the ticket rail gets. Whether it’s 12pm or 10pm, the 500th burger of the day gets the exact same care, sear and attention as the first.
  • Master Every Section: Move seamlessly across the kitchen. You’ll rotate through prep, the line, assembly, and the grill, building a complete understanding of our operation.
  • Team-First Mentality: Bring great energy to every shift. You’ll work hand-in-hand with your team, keeping communication sharp, supporting each other during rushes, and having fun doing it.
  • Protect the Brand Standards: Follow brand specs and recipes down to the milligram and second. High quality isn't an accident here - it's the baseline.
  • Spotless Station Standards: Keep your section clean, organised, and stocked throughout service. You’ll take pride in strict hygiene, correct stock rotation, and leaving the kitchen pristine for the next shift.

What You Bring:

  • A Passion for Product & Precision: Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen where quality and speed go hand-in-hand.
  • High Standards & Pride: An obsessive eye for detail and an unwillingness to compromise on quality, even when the heat is on.
  • Adaptability & Drive: A desire to learn every station, master your craft, and actively push yourself towards your next promotion into senior kitchen leadership.
  • A Positive, Team Player Attitude: You show up for your teammates, stay cool under pressure, and bring a great vibe to the line every single day.

This is an opportunity to help shape a growing brand, not simply clock into a kitchen. So, if you are a grounded ambitious chef who takes food seriously but leaves the stuffy formality at the door, we would love to hear from you.
