Financial Controller
South Cambridge
Salary £60,000 to £65,000 + Bonus
An established manufacturing business based in South Cambridge is seeking a Financial Controller to lead its finance function and support the senior leadership team with high-quality financial insight and reporting.
This is a hands-on role offering broad responsibility across financial control, commercial analysis, process improvement, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Leading budgeting and forecasting processes
- Delivering insightful management information and financial analysis
- Costing and variance analysis to support operational decision-making
- Ownership of month-end and year-end processes
- Supporting external audits and statutory reporting requirements
- Developing financial controls, systems, and processes
- Partnering with operational teams to improve business performance
- Managing and developing a small finance team
About You
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred
- Strong management accounting, reporting, and analytical skills
- Experience within manufacturing, engineering, or a similar environment would be advantageous
- Comfortable working in a hands-on SME environment
- Strong systems and ERP knowledge with a continuous improvement mindset
- Leadership and team management experience
