Job description
Heamar have created a new role within the organisation, the successful candidate will be leading and overseeing all core operational functions to support the growth of the business. The Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring alignment across all operational departments, fostering clear communication, collaboration, and keeping a consistent purpose. By coordinating activities and setting shared priorities, the role ensures that every function—from supply chain to warehousing, repair, and systems—works seamlessly together towards common business objectives.
This role will drive lean, data-led processes and continuous improvement across all areas, with particular ownership of tool kitting delivery and cost-saving initiatives.
Key Outcomes
- On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery of tool kits, with clear accountability for the kitting process.
- Seamless and efficient coordination between supply chain, warehouse, and service operations.
- Consistent achievement of on-time receipt and dispatch of goods from suppliers and to customers.
- Realisation of measurable cost savings and operational efficiencies across departments.
- Availability and effective use of accurate systems data to inform operational decision-making.
- Adherence to and continuous enhancement of AS9120 quality and compliance standards.
- Operational performance fully aligned with commercial objectives and customer expectations.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Operations Leadership
- Execute the operational strategy in line with overall business goals and values.
- Working closely with department managers to improve team performance.
Tool Kitting and Assembly
- Enforce, refine, and continuously improve the kitting process.
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of tool kitting.
- Guarantee On-Time In-Full delivery for all kits.
- Forecast and manage capacity in collaboration with Sales and Digital teams.
Purchasing and Supply Chain
- Manage supplier relationships and all purchasing activities.
- Maintain the fine balance between cost control, availability, and stock accuracy.
- Drive procurement (direct and indirect) improvements alongside the Supply Chain Manager.
Warehouse and Logistics
- Oversee efficient and accurate warehouse operations.
- Lead improvements in warehouse layout, stock accuracy, and process optimisation.
- Manage relationships and performance with logistics partners.
Service and Repair
- Support the Repair Manager in enhancing repair services and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and optimise repair turnaround times and service quality.
Quality and Compliance
- Lead the business in maintaining AS9120 certification and compliance.
- Instil a culture of operational discipline, accountability, and continuous quality improvement.
Systems and Data Insight
- Line-manage the Systems Administrator to ensure systems data drives decision-making.
- Leverage data to enhance productivity, cost control, and process accuracy.
- Promote the effective use of ERP systems and automate tedious and labour-intensive tasks.
Efficiency and Cost Management
- Identify inefficiencies across operational processes and drive corrective action.
- Minimise duplicated, wasteful and underperforming workload.
- Embed a culture of continuous improvement throughout Heamar.
- Analyse operational costs vs. budget to identify savings and improvement opportunities.

Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
- Proven leadership experience in an operational role within an industrial B2B environment.
- Strong cross-functional management experience across purchasing, logistics, warehousing, and service delivery.
- Experience working closely with Sales, Digital, Finance, and Customer Service teams to align operational output with broader business goals.
- Experience supporting operational functions through periods of business growth, scale-up, or organisational change.
- Proven track record in managing, coaching, and developing operational teams and line managers
Desirable:
- Hands-on management of AS9120 or ISO9001 quality systems and processes.
- Practical experience with ERP platforms (preferably Oracle NetSuite), including data-driven decision-making.
- Practical involvement in supplier management, purchasing strategies, and stock level optimisation.
- Track record of delivering process improvement, cost efficiency, and team development.
- Knowledge of best practices in warehouse layout, inventory control, and logistics partner management.
- Familiarity with kitting processes and assembly operations within a manufacturing, engineering, or tooling environment.
