As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to help identify new opportunities, build strong customer relationships, and contribute to our continued success. The successful candidate will work within either our Ingredients Division or Specialities Division, depending on experience, expertise, and business requirements and work alongside a dynamic and collaborative team.
Job Purpose:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities to drive company growth. The role requires building strong relationships with prospective clients, maintaining a robust sales pipeline, and working collaboratively with internal teams to deliver ingredient solutions that meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify new business opportunities through market research, networking, and strategic outreach.
- Develop and implement effective sales and business development strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and pitches.
- Lead negotiations and close commercial agreements to achieve sales targets.
- Collaborate closely with our technical, product development and marketing teams to deliver successful customer solutions.
- Maintain, monitor, and regularly update CRM systems to ensure accurate customer records, pipeline visibility, sales forecasting, and reporting.
- Track and report on pipeline activity, revenue forecasts, and key performance metrics.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
- Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to refine strategy.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Proven track record in B2B sales or business development.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Excellent relationship-building and client management skills.
- An adequate technical knowledge of ingredients and their function in manufactured foods and beverages.
- Commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong CRM management skills with experience maintaining accurate sales pipelines, customer records, and reporting through platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce.
- Results-driven with a strong focus on achieving targets.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Full Clean Driving License.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field (preferred).
- 5 or more years’ experience in Sales and business development.
- Experience in developing and executing successful sales strategies.
