Job Description : Domestic Assistant / Support Worker

We are recruiting compassionate and reliable Domestic Assistants / Support Workers for a well-established care home in the UK. Roles & Responsibilities :

As a Domestic Assistant / Support Worker, your role is crucial in ensuring our home is not just clean, but a happy and comfortable place to live. Your responsibilities will be split between domestic tasks and resident support :

Domestic Duties :

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home, including resident rooms, communal areas, and bathrooms.
  • Perform cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and sanitising surfaces.
  • Ensure laundry is collected, washed, dried, and returned to residents promptly and with care.
  • Adhere to all health and safety and COSHH regulations.

Support Worker Duties :

  • Provide friendly companionship and engage in conversation with residents.
  • Support residents at mealtimes, assisting with setting tables, serving meals, and providing gentle encouragement.
  • Assist residents with low-level support needs, such as prompting with mobility or fetching personal items, always respecting their independence.
  • Work alongside the care team to support the wellbeing of residents.
  • Help set up and encourage residents to participate in activities and social events.
  • Monitor and report any concerns about a resident\’s wellbeing or changes in their environment to a senior staff member.

  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, team-oriented attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and follow procedures for cleaning and safety.
  • Previous experience in a domestic, cleaning, or support role is an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided.
