3 Bed Children's LD Home Newcastle £48,000 - £60,000 (DOE) Brand-New, High-Spec Service - Ready for Registration

I am currently working in partnership with a well-established children's residential care provider (operating successfully for over 20 years) to recruit a Registered Manager for a brand-new 3-bed Learning Disabilities children's home in Newcastle. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to take full ownership of a new, high-spec service from day one. The home is ready to be registered and the successful candidate will lead the Ofsted registration process, build the staff team and embed a positive, child-centred culture from the outset.

The Opportunity

This role would suit:

  • An experienced Registered Manager looking for a fresh challenge and the chance to shape a new service, or
  • A strong and ambitious Deputy Manager with solid LD leadership experience who is ready to step up into their first Registered Manager position.

The provider has a strong reputation within the sector and offers hands-on support from an experienced senior leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Ofsted registration and ensure full regulatory compliance
  • Recruit and develop an entire staff team, including Deputies and Support Workers
  • Establish a therapeutic, structured, and nurturing home environment
  • Maintain high safeguarding standards and risk management practices
  • Oversee personalised care planning and positive behaviour support
  • Manage budgets, occupancy, and operational performance
  • Develop strong relationships with Local Authorities and external professionals
  • Drive the service toward positive Ofsted outcomes

Essential Requirements

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (Children & Young People) - essential
  • Proven leadership experience within a children's residential Learning Disabilities (LD) setting
  • Experience at Deputy Manager or Registered Manager level
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Quality Standards
  • Experience recruiting, leading, and developing staff teams
  • Passion for delivering high-quality care and positive outcomes
