Let's make the NHS the most advanced healthcare system in the world. The world’s best healthcare, for free. It's not a new idea, it's called the NHS. But the largest healthcare provider is fundamentally broken. So we’re on a mission to fix it with technology that actually works. We love the NHS because it’s accessible to all, free at the point of delivery and employs millions up and down the UK. But we've all read the headlines. It's under intense pressure with rising costs, GP strikes, budget uncertainty and an ageing population. Which means longer wait times, fewer appointments and lower quality care for the people who need it most. The NHS is beautiful, but broken. The largest cost (£66bn+) is staff, who spend a ridiculous amount of time on mundane admin. 35% of NHS staff are employed to complete administrative work all day, every day. And that's where we're making a difference. We're focused on relentlessly automating repetitive processes within the NHS. And we’ve had great early success. Our first product, Automated Registrations, is already used by 24% of GP practices in England. With this wedge in the market, we're now building more powerful tech that unlocks access to healthcare for the entire nation.

Mission statement
We have an ambitious mission: to unlock access to healthcare by making every appointment in the NHS bookable. To reach national scale, Raj needs to spend his time on strategy and execution, not admin and logistics. Your job is to run his operation flawlessly so nothing slips and he's always prepared. We invest heavily in development, care deeply about our people, and will support you when needed. BUT you must be comfortable with pressure and prepared to work 60+ hours a week.
Goal expectations
The goal: Make Raj more effective, and therefore help the company move faster. Help us hit 50,000 Weekly Appointments Booked by September 2026. Your role directly contributes to this by:
- Ensuring Raj's time reflects our priorities
- Make Raj a decision‑making engine
Success looks like:
- Raj's calendar actually matches company priorities (not just what's urgent)
- As a result, Raj feels that the vast majority of his time is spent on the right things
- Nothing gets lost - actions tracked, commitments delivered
- Meetings happen smoothly - right people, right prep, actions, owners and deadlines
- Raj never chases you for updates
- Zero typos, broken links, or half‑done work
Your 30 / 60 / 90 day plan
By day 30: Get the engine running. Output: Raj's operation is visibly smoother. You will have:
- Mastered calendar and inbox - you know what matters to Raj, what is noise, and you're protecting his time
- Shadowed Raj in all meetings - you understand his meetings, priorities, and working style
- Established your quality standards and techniques to meet them - nothing leaves your desk with errors
- Run logistics for 5+ major meetings - materials ready, people briefed, no surprises
- Built your action tracking system - Raj's commitments are visible and moving forward, no actions have been missed
By day 60: Make hard things easy. Output: Raj trusts you completely with his operation. You will have:
- Calendar on autopilot - you make judgment calls and Raj agrees with them, you schedule to priorities not requests
- Inbox at zero daily - you respond on his behalf when appropriate, flag urgent, eliminate noise
- Raj’s meeting prep is reliably excellent, also has a venue (rooms if internal), starts on time, has buffer zones where needed
- Tracked 50+ actions to completion, with nil missed
- You're always two steps ahead - no firefighting, just smooth execution
- You’re acting as a reliable, independent thought partner who can challenge Raj when needed but also play with his ideas to optimise his creativity and output
- Observe and take note of what gives Raj energy e.g. meditation, exercise and ensure he has space to do this each day
By day 90: Set the standard. Output: You're indispensable to how Raj operates. You will have:
- Raj delegates tasks once and forgets them - he trusts they're done
- Zero dropped balls - your tracking system means nothing slips
- Meeting quality is consistent - prep happens without Raj thinking about it
- You've optimised Raj's calendar multiple times based on what actually gets results
- You've built templates and systems that make recurring work effortless
- You and Raj complement each other’s mindsets and abilities, you catch details he misses, you know when to bring Raj back into focus and how to prioritise his ideas
- You understand how to create a world where Raj can work at his optimum, sometimes last minute and amongst chaos, but create time and space for him to channel that energy into order so the rest of the team can thrive in structure, good communication and clarity
Scope of the role
You fully own:
- Calendar management - protect time, align to priorities, optimize for effectiveness
- Inbox triage - respond when appropriate, flag urgent, eliminate noise
- Meeting logistics - scheduling, materials prep, attendee briefing, room setup
- Task management - action tracking, chase completion, flag blockers
- Quality control - proofread everything both yours and Raj’s, check every link, catch every error
- Admin execution - expenses, travel, documentation, whatever needs doing including personal tasks e.g. dentist appointments
- Protect Raj's daily fuel - (exercise, 1hr meditation, family/dating) and be his family's contact to ensure he shows up for what matters
You do not own:
- Strategic decisions or recommendations
- Special projects spanning multiple functions
- Managing other people's teams
- Pete's operation (he has his own EA)
- Functional execution (engineering, sales, support)
Opportunities for progression:
This is one of the fastest growing health tech startups in the UK. We may be small (currently) but we are mighty, serving 24% of the country with our first product and with lofty ambitions ahead. As Raj and the company grows, so will this role too, and in the future there is the opportunity to be the right hand person to the CEO of a company serving up critical infrastructure to the NHS and its patients.
Required experience
- You care deeply about the NHS
- 2-4 years as a top-tier EA or in roles requiring operational excellence
- Obsessive about quality - errors don't happen on your watch
- Exceptional prioritisation - you know what's urgent vs important
- Proactive communicator - you update before being asked
- Calm under pressure - you thrive when it's chaotic, and can juggle many tasks in parallel
- Judgment you can trust - you make the right call when Raj isn't available
Nice to have
- Experience supporting C‑suite in high‑growth startups
- Built systems that made teams more effective
- NHS experience
A bit about us
We’re all NHS staff. We’re inside‑outsiders. Trusted with one of the biggest datasets in the world. Our office is within a GP practice. This is our unfair advantage. Got a question? Pop down the corridor. Want to learn how your work affects real patients? Pop downstairs to reception.
3-4 days in the office depending on your team. We highly prioritise in person communication. Our anchor days are Mon, Tues and Fri; and our flex days are Wed or Thurs. Homemade breakfast and lunch are on the house every day when you're in the office, ensuring you're fuelled for success!
We work in growth cycles. Every 8 weeks we do the same set of activities.
We’re highly collaborative. One of the benefits… We’re backed by industry leaders. We’re on the DigitalHealth.London Accelerator, backed by the NHS Clinical… An opportunity for real upside… Paid volunteer days… Every 8 weeks… Learning budget… Homemade… Health… Tooling…
Inclusive & Diverse by Design
We care about building a product that is loved and a culture that is rich in perspectives, experiences, and backgrounds. Our team represents more than ten different cultures. We are purposeful about this and are proactively building a company that is inclusive of all people; from race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, neurodiversity, disability, colour, and national origin – essentially every type of diversity. We don’t just want people who fit in, we want them to fit together. We're active in continually improving the way we make this happen.
