Let’s make the NHS the most advanced healthcare system in the world! The NHS is one of the UK’s greatest institutions free at the point of delivery and there for everyone. But it’s under extraordinary pressure. Rising demand, budget constraints and workforce shortages mean longer wait times and overstretched teams. The biggest cost in the NHS is people (£66bn+ annually) and a huge portion of that time is spent on repetitive admin. Highly trained staff completing manual processes all day, every day. At Healthtech-1, we’re here to change that.
Our Mission
We automate repetitive administrative work in GP practices so staff can focus on patients. Our first product, Automated Registrations, is already used by 24% of GP practices in England. That footprint gives us a powerful platform to build the next generation of access tools creating a future where every appointment is transparent and bookable, and patients are navigated to the right place, first time.
A little bit about the role
We’re hiring a high‑agency Account Executive/Senior Growth Specialist to help us reach more GP practices across England. This is a full‑cycle sales role. You’ll own a geographic patch and be responsible for:
- Generating leads across multiple outbound channels
- Running high‑quality demos
- Closing and onboarding practices
- Continuously improving team performance
You’ll work in a paired model (we believe two heads are better than one), surrounded by an ambitious team with experience across Monzo, Revolut, the NHS, the Civil Service, consulting and VC‑backed startups.
What success looks like
- Consistently converting demos at 60‑70%+
- Running 100+ outbound touchpoints per week
- Owning your pipeline health and reporting clearly
- Improving the team’s playbook, not just hitting your number
This is a role for someone who wants to raise the bar for themselves and for those around them.
Do you probably won’t enjoy this role if you
- Prefer being told exactly what to do
- Need heavy supervision to improve
- Avoid direct feedback
- Don’t want to push your work rate
You will enjoy this if you
- Love owning a number
- Learn fast and iterate faster
- Care deeply about the mission
We operate with high trust, radical transparency and real accountability. We care about doing our life’s best work and we expect the same from each other.
30/60 Day Trajectory
First 30 days
- Learn the NHS landscape, shadow demos, understand GP workflows, and get practices live. You’ll immerse yourself in how surgeries operate (including time spent inside a practice) and begin independently closing deals.
By 60 days
- You’ll be running the full lifecycle confidently, consistently onboarding practices, generating your own pipeline across 4‑5 channels, and contributing to team‑level improvements. No early churn. High demo conversion. Clear ownership.
What we’re looking for
- 2+ years SaaS sales experience
- Startup or Scaleup experience preferred
- Bias to action and comfort on the phone
- Strong storytelling and communication skills
- Low ego
- High standards and strong work ethic
Most importantly: you care about improving access to healthcare in the UK!!
Life at Healthtech‑1
- £45,000 base salary with commission on top (£80k + OTE)
- 3–5 days in‑person (Mon, Tues, Fri anchor days)
- 8‑week growth cycles: 1 week strategy, 7 weeks execution
- £250 annual learning budget
- Health & fitness budget (£60/month)
- Generous parental leave and fertility leave
- Local living benefit (£5k walkable / £2.5k bikeable)
- Annual team holiday (in 2025: 8 days at a surf camp in France)
- Backed by leading programmes including DigitalHealth.London, the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme, Innovate UK and Y Combinator (S23)
We don’t offer private medical insurance as we believe in the NHS and we’re here to improve it. If you want to build category‑defining healthtech, work alongside amazing colleagues and clients every day, and help unlock access to healthcare for millions we’d love to speak with you.
