Join the team at Gold Coast Private Hospital as a Theatre Orderly. We are looking for experienced professionals to bring their skills to our team on a casual basis. In this role, you will provide exceptional non-clinical patient care, support the nursing team, and contribute to a positive patient experience. Established in 2016, Gold Coast Private Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 340-bed facility located in the heart of the Gold Coast Precinct in Southport. With 22 operating theatres, Gold Coast Private Hospital offers a wide range of specialties including, but not limited to, 24/7 Emergency Care, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care, and Oncology. As a Theatre/Recovery Orderly - Admissions/Postoperative Anaesthetic Recovery Unit, your responsibilities will include:
- Patient assistance and transfers including the use of wheelchairs, lifting machines and bed movers
- Preoperative preparation of the patient as per surgical VMO requirements
- General housekeeping duties e.g. cleaning beds, organising linen, restocking of equipment, and waste management
- Remove dirty linen / ensure clean linen is readily available
- Operate in line with WHS policy & procedures
- Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients and patients
- Cultivating a hospitable and friendly environment for all patients
- Work as an active team member to support all work tasks
Requirements:
- Authority to Work in Australia
- Cert 4 Assistant in Nursing/patient services or working towards
- Experience as an Orderly in a hospital environment preferred
- Vaccination and serology records prior to commencement
- Working with Children check
- Commitment to service excellence
- Ability to prioritise and organise work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- High level attention to detail
