Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking Physiotherapist applicants to join our team on a Part-time basis with shifts across a 7-day period, including weekend work.

Come and join our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses, and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital. We are a 189-bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres, including a hybrid theatre, and a 15-bed Intensive Care Unit.
We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16-bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite with 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care, with both an inpatient unit and a day infusion lounge.
As a Physiotherapist, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing comprehensive Physiotherapy services to acute surgical inpatients including orthopaedics, general surgery, cardiac, and neurosurgery.
- Delivering excellent clinical services related to assessment, treatment, planning, and evidence-based practice.
- Participating in program development and quality improvement activities within the Allied Health Department.
- Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients and their support people.
- Discharge planning with the multidisciplinary team and referrals to external services.
- Clinical supervision of physiotherapy and allied health assistant students.
- Bachelor in Physiotherapy.
- Current AHPRA Registration.
- Excellent clinical practice skills to manage a high acuity caseload.
- Minimum 1 year\’s experience in an acute hospital environment.
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- Commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork.
- Prior experience in ICU & Surgical settings would be advantageous.
Experience working in an acute hospital setting is preferred.
