Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking Food Services Assistants to join our hospitality team on a casual basis. In this fast-paced and varied environment, you will take pride in your work, have a friendly and positive work attitude, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

You will assist in effectively serving our patient, doctor, and staff meals with particular attention to patient dietary needs, and assist with function catering at a consistently high standard and within HACCP guidelines.

As a Food Service Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in daily food preparation and basic meal assembly
  • Deliver, serve and collect all patient food requirements and meal trays
  • Assist in general cleaning of kitchen equipment and utensils including dish and pot washing as required
  • Act as a valued member of an interdisciplinary team by promoting a professional and positive team culture
  • Provide high standard of customer service
  • Operate in line with WHS policy & procedures
  • Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients and patients
  • Have demonstrated ongoing commitment to professional development
  • Authority to Work in Australia
  • Working with Children check
  • 2 years’ experience in a similar role within a Hospital or Aged care environment
  • Completed Basic Food Handling Training (or working towards)
  • Certificate III in Hospitality (or working towards)
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
  • Commitment to service excellence
  • Strong communication and customer skills
  • Work well independently and within a team
  • Available for a variety of shifts & on call shifts
