Are you looking for a challenging yet rewarding position with an organisation that allows you to be a part of something bigger? Newcastle Private is currently seeking experienced guest services professionals to join our dynamic team in a casual capacity. We are searching for team members experienced in a high level of cleaning, preferably with hospital or similar experience, to work across a rotating 7-day roster including mornings, evenings and nights. Successful applicants may also be able to pick up or be trained for further work in the Food Services Department.
About us: Join our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses, and allied health professionals at Newcastle Private Hospital. We are a 189-bed, acute, private hospital co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15-bed Intensive Care Unit. We also have a cardiac suite with a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16-bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite with 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialized cancer care with both an inpatient unit and a day infusion lounge.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Provide high standard of cleaning services
- Operate in line with infection control standards and WHS policies & procedures
- Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients, and patients
- Act in accordance with all manual handling protocols
- Assist production teams to ensure patient satisfaction
- Work according to Healthscope’s policies and code of conduct, participating in performance appraisals and mandatory education; maintain skills and standards of customer service; ensure patient confidentiality and privacy
- Support Healthscope’s safety and quality improvement initiatives, including Work Health & Safety
What you’ll need to succeed:
- Demonstrated experience as a cleaner or infectious cleaning specialist in a hospital, aged care, or medical setting
- Enthusiasm, drive, and passion to maintain a high standard of cleanliness
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Flexibility to work Monday to Sunday on a rotating roster including afternoon, evening, and occasional night shifts
