Children’s nurses at HealthNet have the unique opportunity to support children and adults in the community either at home, school or work to receive their treatment while continuing with their daily lives. The role of a Homecare Nurse makes such a difference to our patients who can receive the medical care they need in the comfort of their own homes, school or place of work. The patients we visit may have growth hormone deficiency, auto immune or rare and orphan conditions.
As a homecare nurse we are fortunate to be able to give one to one care to our patients whether it is teaching a patient or carer to administer an injection or administering more complex IV therapies. Our Nurse team is made up of specifically trained homecare professionals with the capability to support both straightforward and complex end to end therapies in a patient focused and quality driven manner. Our vision is to be seen as the first choice for patient centred homecare and to realise this vision we work closely with the NHS and Pharmaceutical Companies to provide an array of services from medication delivery, nursing services and patient support programmes allowing patients to undertake treatment in the comfort of their own home, with the correct support and to the same standards that would normally be received in a hospital or clinical environment.

Main Responsibilities
- Assist in providing excellent standards of patient care on behalf of the client and associated healthcare professionals.
- Teaching patients, carers or family members to self-administer therapy, or the administration of therapies to patients in accordance with service specific protocols in the comfort of their own homes.
- Participating in telephone calls, virtual calls and home visits as part of Patient Support Programmes.
- Assist in providing solutions that will support the patient and healthcare professional in delivering a seamless service between hospital and the home.
- Ensure a high standard of service is established and always delivered for all customers and patients.
- Travel requirements across regions.
What experience and skills are we looking for?
- You will be a registered childrens nurse and passionate about delivering first class patient care.
- Registered Childrens Nurse on NMC register.
- Desirable Skill but not essential: 3 years post registration experience.
- Experience accessing and using Ports.
- Previous experience in the administration of IV therapies.
