Job Overview

Set in Surrey’s beautiful open countryside with acres of grounds and wildlife on our doorstep, with the children’s own sheep farm.

We offer placements from birth to 5 years of age with a happy team of staff and wonderfully happy, adventurous children.

We achieve Ofsted’s early learning goals through child‑led play and lots of outdoor activities.

You will be joining a nursery with ambitious plans, where the current staff team are happy and enjoy creating amazing experiences for the children in our care.

As a practitioner, you will ensure complete care of all children in the charge of Portfield Farm Eco‑Nursery and Forest School and undertake all tasks related to this care.

You will maintain a safe and happy environment, which will be nurturing and stimulating, enabling children to thrive and develop to the best of their potential.

You should possess great communication skills and have a calm, approachable nature.

Parents will be welcomed to the setting, reassured, helped and offered appropriate advice if requested.

Our team of staff will be mentored as appropriate.

Our Nursery cares for children between the ages of birth and 5 years old.

We are open Monday to Friday 8 am – 6 pm all year round except for closure between Christmas and New Year and on public bank holidays.

The aim of our nursery is to provide a happy, home away‑from‑home environment for all children in our care with emphasis on individual attention and learning through play.

Our philosophy is that a child should be happy, safe and healthy in a stimulating and educational environment.

We aim to work in partnership with all parents to provide a service that will reach their individual needs.

The staff we employ are with us because of their genuine love of children, others are training ‘on the job’ and some have a wealth of experience with children during their lifetime.
