The predicted salary is between 14.3 - 14.3 £ per hour.

As Senior Carer you will be responsible for providing care in accordance with current best practice, according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements and relevant regulations under the direction of the Manager.

You will take over all charge of Capel Grange and all aspects of care provision in the absence of a Team Leader, Deputy Manager or the Manager as requested by them to do so.

To lead and support the care team in delivering person centred care, ensuring residents’ needs are met with dignity and respect, while maintaining high standards of safety, wellbeing and professional practice within the care home.

  • Delivering High Quality Care
  • Provide person-centred care in line with individual care plans
  • Assist residents with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting, grooming)
  • Support with nutrition and hydration, including feeding where required
  • Promote independence, dignity, and choice at all times
  • Supervising and Supporting Staff
  • Lead and supervise Care Assistants and junior staff on shift
  • Allocate duties and ensure care tasks are completed effectively
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to team members
  • Assist with induction and training of new staff
  • Champion and advocate of the home of management choice
  • Medication Management
  • Administer medication safely in line with policies and training
  • Maintain accurate Medication Administration Records (MAR charts)
  • Monitor residents for side effects or changes in condition
  • Ordering any required medication
  • Communicating any changes to medication to relevant staff
  • Following all policies and procedures in place
  • Care Planning and Record Keeping
  • Contribute to the development and review of care plans
  • Maintain accurate, up to date daily records and reports
  • Report any changes in residents’ health or behaviour to senior staff or management
  • Safeguarding and Health & Safety
  • Follow safeguarding procedures to protect vulnerable adults
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and secure environment
  • Adhere to infection control, moving and handling and COSHH policies
  • Report accidents, incidents, and hazards appropriately
  • Communication and Teamwork
  • Act as a point of contact for residents, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Coordinate with external professionals, including GPs, District Nurses, Home treatment team
  • Participate in handover meetings and team discussions
  • Supporting Residents’ Wellbeing
  • Encourage participation in social activities and engagement
  • Provide emotional support and companionship
  • Respect residents’ cultural, religious and personal preferences
  • Shift Leadership
  • Take responsibility for the smooth running of the shift in the absence of senior management
  • Ensure staffing levels and care delivery meet required standards
  • Respond to emergencies and unexpected situations effective

Working Hours and Pay Rates

  • Full time contract, 36 to 48 hours per week
  • Weekdays - £14.30 per hour
  • Weekends - £15.05 per hour
