About Us: We are flexible, human employer based in the unique setting of a Camphill Community. Mourne Grange has been established since 1971 and offers supported living and day opportunities to adults with learning disabilities. Working in Mourne Grange offers you an opportunity to work from a person centred value base and the way people with disabilities should be treated and respected in our society. Their contributions are as important and as of as much value as the contributions of every other person who is part of Mourne Grange. It involves being part of a community and working alongside life sharing co-workers who live in Mourne Grange with the people we support. We want to accompany people with learning disabilities and this involves an interest in understanding them and issues in their life both positive and negative. Pay Rates: Weekdays - Β£13.20 per hour Weekends - Β£19.80 per hour (paid at time and a half) Working Hours: We have both full time and part time positions available. You will be expected to engage in a rota (up to 4 weeks in advance) that consits of 12 hour shifts and weekends. What you'll be doing: Supporting 58 adults who have learning disabilities and autism in a 24/7 supported living community covering over 100 acres. The emphasis is on working with our service users to maximise their independence. You will be based in one of our 11 supported living houses as part of a team, where each house has a maximum of 6 people. You may be asked to support in other areas of the Community, also in our therapeutic workshops. You will also be involved with supporting the social and cultural life of the Community. No hoisting is required for this position but you'll need to provide personal care to our service users. Qualities we look for: Good communication skills and adapt to the needs of the service users. Good observational skills, the people we support communicate in many different ways Punctual, organised, respect confidentiality Able to work as part of a team but also appropriately use own initiative Able to engage in training An openness to working with diversity Additional Information: Male and females are welcome to apply Driving isn't essential but you must be able to commute reliably Experience of working with people with learning disabilities or other adults in need of support is of value but it is more important to be able to see people with learning disabilities as people first and not based on the label of their disability #J-18808-Ljbffr
