As a Senior Care Assistant, you are the bridge between our office‑based management and the frontline delivery of care in our community. You will lead by example, providing expert care to our clients in their own homes while mentoring a team of Care Assistants to maintain the highest standards of dignity and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Frontline Leadership: Act as a point of escalation for junior staff during your shift, providing guidance on complex care needs.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct 'spot checks' and competency assessments to ensure care is delivered according to plan.
- Care Planning: Assist in the initial assessment of new clients in the Taunton area and update existing care plans as needs change.
- Medication Auditing: Oversee medication administration records (MAR charts) and ensure safe practices are followed.
- Direct Care: Provide hands‑on support for clients with high‑dependency needs, including dementia care and end‑of‑life support.
Pay Rates
The pay varies from £14.30 - £15.88 per hour (Depending upon experience). Paid travel time and mileage at 45p.
Working Hours
Morning shifts: 7am - 2pm and evening shifts: 4pm - 10pm. All care visits are a minimum of 1 hour and all the clients are solely located in Taunton.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in domiciliary care with prior experience in a 'Lead' or 'Senior' capacity.
- Qualifications: NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health.
